A former salt shed, this site sits along the Winooski River in Montpelier and is part of a Riverfront District. Historically a manufacturing and rail transportation corridor, the area now is a mix of office, retail and recreational spaces, including the Turntable Park and Montpelier bike path.
The developer of a mixed use building worked with Didi Brush Landscape Design to soften the linear character of the site with an array of shrubs, ornamental trees, ground-covers and perennial plantings that surround the building. Now the home of Vermont State Colleges, the Connor Building replaced an abandoned corrugated metal structure with a two story office building that will provide vitality to an important part of the city.
This is beautiful!
