Hospital Entry Garden

The Central Vermont Medical Center offered no outdoor seating for its staff, patients or visitors. A very long and narrow strip of unused and uninviting lawn between the two main buildings has been transformed into an entry garden for all to enjoy.

A large curved walkway leads the visitor to a seating area with a new metal arbor, anchored by an espalier tree sculpture on the end wall. A sea of ferns curve along the fully shaded brick wall, with ornamental grasses on the opposite side. Soon Boston Ivy will cover and soften the 80 foot length of brick wall and clematis and honeysuckle vines will soon climb and cover the black metal arbor.
